MY Twilight Saga....

Preface
This post is going to be about the Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer. It will contain nothing BUT information about the books in the Twilight Series. This post will be full of "spoilers" and my 'fervent' opinion *chuckle*. If you intend to read the series, I would suggest NOT reading this post. If you have read the series and enjoyed each book, then you might enjoy this post. As mentioned before, I will be issuing my opinion and point of view regarding the series, so you have been warned! *grin*

On, or about, December 6th, I loaded up my husband's mp3 player full of Stephenie Meyer's first book in the Twilight Series, cleverly named "Twilight" (lol). It took me a few days to "get into" the book, as at first the reader of the audio book, Ilyana Kadushin's voice kind of grated on my nerves. There were several little things throughout the book that annoyed me as well, like Stephenie's very immature writing style. She used words like fervently, warily, nonchalant and so forth, words that I would expect a teenager writing a short story to use (like I did, when I used to write). I was also a little disappointed at the fact that this was a "juvenile fiction"... I guess I was trying to block out of my mind the fact that she pretty much wrote these books for tweens. I just needed a little more "action", if you know what I mean. LMBO! I also had a very hard time with the continual comparison of the author to one of the best vampire authors of all time, Anne Rice. It was a super struggle for me, but I overcame and towards the middle of book 1 (Twilight), I began to grow a serious addiction.

I had picked up the book because, well truthfully *embarrassed*, a favorite digital scrapbook designer named Sharon (of ksharonk designs @ www.twolittlepixels.com) blogged about how she was crazy about the books and I subscribe to her blog feed and wondered what the whole Twilight Craze was all about. I let myself wonder for several months, hearing rave reviews regarding the books, and then seeing previews for the movie on tv. Hmmmm, I wondered a bit more. I finally 'obtained' the audio books and gave them a casual listen at first. Clearly, the bit of listening I did grew into a full blow gotta-have-it situation. I was listening to that mp3 player while doing dishes, while bathing the girls, while cooking dinner, before bed EVERY night... it got pretty hairy there for a while. LOL! My listening slowed as I reloaded the player up with book 4- Breaking Dawn. This was THE LAST book! *gasp* What was I going to do when it was all over?! I still haven't a clue, but I've read about Stephenie Meyer releasing a book eventually called Midnight Sun, which is through Edwards point of view- might be interesting.

I am still not sure what it was about the series that I was so captivated by, I'm still quite lost when it comes down to it! I found myself drawn to the readers voice and the characters especially. And after all is said and done, I'm still a huge fan of Jacob! *wink* So with a sad heart, at midnight last night, the final book in the Twilight Series- Breaking Dawn, ended for me. They were good books, and they certainly could have been a lot better, but it was a fun little journey to go on!

I saw the movie this week ... reluctantly, I must add. I had fears that it would be very different to the books, but I loved it. Lots of really bad stuff in the movie, like the special effects, but most of the characters were very believable, and I'm a fan! Sharon :)
